4's (Pre K) Classes with Pumpkin Patch Preschool

20/2 (child/teacher ratio)

Many of our children in this class will be moving up from our three’s class, but we also realize that for some children, this may be their first experience in a group setting with their peers.

Our main goals at this age are to help these children have a healthy, positive start towards many successful years ahead in school. We will be preparing them for kindergarten by practicing our letters and numbers both through songs, games, and fun tracing activity sheets.

We will be learning how to line up, listen during appropriate times, and begin following directions. We teach our preschoolers to be compassionate and courteous to their friends and to themselves.

Your child will get to play with paint, markers, glue, and, yes, even scissors! Creating beautiful art to share at home. 

We do not use any form of discipline with our preschoolers. Instead, we keep them safe and redirect them into a positive place by helping them self-regulate their emotions and understand what their friends are feeling and experiencing too. Making mistakes and having conflicts is something we celebrate in preschool because it gives us so many opportunities to learn and understand our feelings.

We attend 2-3 field trips during the school year to local places such as The Deschutes Recycling Center and Knott Landfill, and Papa Murphy’s. 

Mostly we have lots and lots of fun creating positive, happy memories to last a lifetime!
